What's happening in the insurance industry now? After the fall of the Insurance Giant, AIG, what kind of investments can insurance companies participate in now? As head of the Investments Division of an insurance company in the Philippines, our investment activities were very much limited by the Insurance Commission. Except for AIG, insurance companies were limited to investments in government securities and triple A papers. As markets become volatile, returns become lower and funds dry up, how is the insurance industry holding up?

These are the questions I would like to answer in the course of doing this blog. I haven't been in the industry for a couple of years already. I am taking my MBA now in Spain. By writing the entries in this blog, I hope to equip myself with knowledge that would prove to be beneficial after I graduate in 2010.
